As a lover of BYOB restaurants and pasta-filled menus, I decided to choose E2 in Highland Park for dinner with my best friend. I had heard great things about E2 from I heart PGH who happens to know the chef and has dined there before. When I asked her what to order she said “everything is amazing”—so I had high expectations heading into dinner.
Grubstreet, New York Magazine’s online food site, has an article on the 101 best and craziest new desserts in America. And two local Pittsburgh restaurants made the list! I’ve been to both Spoon and Avenue B and had excellent meals at both. Check out the desserts below.
Bite Bistro is a quaint neighborhood BYOB restaurant located in the heart of Bellevue on Lincoln Avenue. The spot has live music every Friday and a creative and changing menu that will be appealing to both foodies and locals. For example, if you’re going the more traditional route you can get the hot wings with house made hot sauce or try something different and order the pork fat frites. We decided to go all out and order both.
These rice krispies treats are different from the standard ones because they are flavored with cake mix. Yep, you sprinkle in some of your favorite powdered cake mix with the melting marshmallows and you have cake batter rice krispie treats. These are a perfect snack to make for kids, for your best friends birthday, or for your Valentine.
